Sex and Horror

Sex and horror seem to go together like whiskey and coke or peanut butter and jelly. But why ? Could it be something as simple that people just like looking at boobs or butt . Maybe thats true after all sex sells. But maybe it has something to do with horror is all about taking you on an emotional thrill ride. You see a couple having sex or someone naked in the shower when a person is at their most vulnerable and the next minute they’re in immediate danger or being brutally killed. When done right a horror story or movie can take you from one extreme sensation, sex, which for most of us is the most extreme form of pleasure to death( or at least the threat of death) which is the most extreme form of pain. All in a blink of an eye. It is probably why Hellraiser works so well as its main themes are pain and pleasure. Or many Vampire movies which often has themes of seduction and sexuality.
